For your Mac.
This is a test build for macOS 15 or later. Native Mac compatibility, screen permissions, Keychain behavior and performance still need checking.
Install
- In Apple menu → About This Mac, check whether your Mac has an Apple M-series chip or an Intel processor.
- Choose the matching Mac download on the main page. It is an app ZIP, with the .NET runtime included.
- Unzip the file and drag SNDESKWM into Applications. Open it from Applications.
The app is not Developer-ID signed or notarized, so macOS may block it. Do not disable Gatekeeper or other system protections. A production Mac installer requires Apple signing and notarization.
Updating from the earlier SNDESKW Mac preview? Quit it first. After copying SNDESKWM into Applications, remove the earlier app yourself to avoid duplicate app names. The existing login Keychain entries remain compatible.
Set permissions yourself
Viewing a remote computer does not need screen or Accessibility permission on this Mac. To share this Mac, use the app’s Screen Recording settings button and allow SNDESKWM. For remote mouse and keyboard control, also allow SNDESKWM under Accessibility. Reopen the app after changing permissions.
First connection
- Install Windows 2.4.3 on the other computer, or use another Mac preview.
- Enter the other computer’s 10-digit ID and temporary code. Its owner must approve.
- Test View only first, then explicitly approve control. Check pointer movement, clicks and basic typing.
- Try full screen and minimize. Use Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V for plain-text clipboard transfer. Each clipboard transfer requires approval.
- End the session using the visible Stop sharing window. Confirm the screen stops updating.
Passwords and files
Optional fixed passwords use 12–128 characters. Each incoming Mac session still asks for approval. Remembering a connection is opt-in and happens only after successful authentication and approval. Saved passwords, the device identity and Azure download keys use this Mac user’s login Keychain.
Use Send file in either direction. Files up to 50 MiB transfer directly; larger files automatically use encrypted temporary Azure storage up to 10 GiB. Received files lists large downloads waiting for collection. The deployed relay still applies sender enrollment and pilot quotas; changing these is deferred to preserve the current session. The recipient must consent and keeps the download key in Keychain. Download/decryption/hash verification and local save precede Azure deletion. If deletion fails, retry Delete Azure copy. Access expires after 24 hours; cleanup may run later.
Preview limits
Primary display only. Basic keyboard mapping; alternate layouts and IME require testing. Screen capture currently uses Apple’s screencapture utility at a modest frame rate, with private temporary frames resized and deleted after reading. No unattended service, audio, printing, recording or elevated-system control.
Uninstall
Quit SNDESKWM, then move it from Applications to Trash yourself. Keychain records remain for reinstall continuity. Use Forget and Disable fixed password inside the app first if you want those records removed.
