2.4.3 preview · 24 October 2026
2.4.3 — one Files workspace and phone previews
- One Files workspace: My computer and Connected computer, Send and Receive, multiple selected files, and a receiving-folder choice. Receive asks the other person to select files; it does not expose their folders.
- Files up to 50 MiB transfer directly; larger files use encrypted Azure storage automatically, up to 10 GiB each. Current deployed relay sender enrollment and pilot quotas still apply. The relay has not been restarted.
- Test on my phone: paste an Expo tunnel or development-client URL to generate a local QR, or ask the connected developer to share one. This requires a control-approved session and a compatible peer. It does not forward USB devices or launch Expo automatically.
- The developer starts Expo manually and stops its tunnel when finished. SNDESKWM does not persist the preview URL. Native modules require a compatible development build.
- Removed the Server IP/RDP shortcut. Saved successful fixed-password records can be reused when connecting with an empty password field. Five viewer controls: End session, Files, Test on my phone, Full screen and Minimize.
Verified: Windows and both Mac cross-target builds, protocol regressions, independently decoded QR, native Windows QR display, and approved phone-link exchange plus reverse file delivery through the deployed relay using isolated synthetic clients. Actual Expo project/phone testing, native Mac behavior, large files, installation/upgrade/uninstall and real two-computer saved-password behavior still need testing.
2.4.2 — simpler remote controls
Relay testing-mode activation is pending. The current server retains its pilot sender and quota checks until a scheduled restart; existing sessions are being preserved. The new client controls are available now.
- Five remote-view buttons: End session, Send file, Received files, Full screen and Minimize.
- Ctrl+C copies selected remote text to this computer; Ctrl+V sends local text and pastes into the focused remote field after approval. Plain text up to 64 KiB.
- Windows full screen uses the entire monitor, including the taskbar area, and restores the previous window on exit.
- One Send file action chooses direct transfer or encrypted temporary Azure storage automatically above 50 MiB. Files are limited to 10 GiB each.
- Testing mode removes pilot sender enrollment, pending-file quotas and daily quotas. Authentication, approved sessions and recipient consent remain.
Verified: native Windows synthetic-image full-screen entry/exit, protocol regression tests and small real Azure encrypted transfers in both directions with verified save and deletion. New clipboard shortcuts, 10 GiB transfers and native Mac behavior still require real two-computer testing.
Renamed to SNDESKWM
Windows and Mac now use the same SNDESKWM Insight app name, with separate platform download pages. Windows installer, executable, shortcut and uninstall branding are updated. Mac app bundle and window titles are updated. Connection protocol, protected device identities, saved-password locations and the Windows upgrade family remain compatible.
- Optional fixed connection password with existing host approval controls.
- Remember a fixed-password connection only after successful authentication and approval. Saved records are encrypted on the Windows profile, with a Forget option.
- Removed Server vault and API credentials links from the desktop workspace.
- Private encrypted Azure file transfers up to 10 GB, with recipient consent and a protected inbox.
- Complete downloads are authenticated and hash-verified before Azure deletion is acknowledged. Failed downloads retain the cloud copy.
- Uncollected transfers expire after 24 hours; cleanup may run later. Approved senders have two pending-file slots and a 20 GB/day pilot upload allowance.
- Stable IDs, temporary codes, full-screen, minimize, clipboard permission and Stop sharing remain.
New: Mac preview
Separate Apple Silicon and Intel app bundles are now available from the same download page. macOS 15 or later; .NET is included. Unzip and move the app into Applications.
- Reuses the original C# authentication, consent and encrypted transport; interoperates with Windows 2.4.2.
- Mac interface with fixed ID, temporary code, optional fixed password and opt-in saved computers in the macOS login Keychain.
- Primary-display sharing, basic mouse/keyboard input, full-screen viewer, minimize, explicit clipboard approval and file-transfer controls.
- Incoming sessions always require owner approval. Sharing requires Screen Recording permission; remote control additionally requires Accessibility permission.
- Preview capture uses the macOS screencapture utility and private temporary frames, resized and deleted after reading. Performance, permissions and keyboard-layout compatibility need real Mac testing.
Both Mac builds compile without warnings. App bundle structure, executable permissions, native architecture and executable ad-hoc code-page hashes passed packaging checks. Nine live-relay checks passed using synthetic screen/input providers. This does not verify native macOS behavior. The bundles are not Apple Developer-ID signed or notarized; macOS may block them. Read the Mac setup and test guide.
The original C# relay/protocol remains version 3. This build contains no RustDesk/Flutter engine. The legacy 1.x source and licence are separate.
Local protocol, fixed-password approval, encrypted saved-record, streaming-file integrity and private Azure upload/download/delete checks passed using small synthetic files. A real 10 GB transfer was not performed. Interactive two-computer sessions, installation and upgrades remain pending. The existing Azure relay health check responds successfully. This does not establish commercial-product feature parity or independently audited security.
